  • 3.5 kg Ale Malt (Gladfield)
  • 0.5 kg Munich Malt (Gladfield)
  • 0.3 kg Crystal Medium Malt (Gladfield) - 40L
  • 30 g East Kent Goldings (EKG) Hops (bittering) - 60 minutes
  • 20 g East Kent Goldings (EKG) Hops (flavour) - 15 minutes
  • 200 g Peanut Butter (unsweetened, no added oil) ? Not Supplied
  • 300 g Raspberries (frozen or fresh, sanitized if fresh) ? Not Supplied
  • Irish Moss (clarifying agent) - optional, for clearer beer ? Not Supplied
  • x1 Mangrove Jack's M15 Empire Ale Yeast or s04

  1. Mashing:
    • Heat 16.5 Liters of water in the Grainfather to strike temperature of around 70?C (158?F).
    • Add your crushed grains into the malt pipe.
    • Carefully place the malt pipe into the Grainfather, ensuring it is sitting on the false bottom.
    • Mash for 60 minutes at 65?C (149?F).
    • After the mash, carefully lift the malt pipe out and allow it to drain into the Grainfather.
  2. Boiling:
    • Bring the wort to a boil.
    • Add the bittering hops (30 g EKG) at the beginning of the 60-minute boil.
    • With 15 minutes left in the boil, add the flavour hops (20 g EKG) and Irish Moss (if using).
  3. Cooling and Transferring:
    • After the boil, chill the wort down to around 20?C (68?F) using a wort chiller or an ice bath.
    • Transfer the cooled wort to your sanitized fermenter, leaving the trub and hops behind.
  4. Fermentation:
    • Rehydrate the Mangrove Jack's M15 Empire Ale Yeast according to the manufacturer's instructions.
    • Pitch the rehydrated yeast into the fermenter.
    • Add the peanut butter to the fermenter. Make sure it's unsweetened and has no added oil. Stir gently to incorporate.
    • Seal the fermenter with an airlock and let it ferment at a controlled temperature of around 18-20?C (64-68?F) for about 7-10 days or until fermentation is complete.

  1. Secondary and Raspberry Addition:
    • After primary fermentation, sanitize the raspberries by briefly heating them to around 160?F (71?C) and then cooling them down.
    • Add the sanitized raspberries to the fermenter and gently mix.
    • Let the beer sit for an additional 3-5 days to allow the flavors to meld.
  2. Bottling or Kegging:
    • Once the desired flavors have developed, you can either bottle or keg your beer. If bottling, prime with appropriate priming sugar and bottle.
  3. Enjoy:
    • Allow the beer to carbonate and condition for at least two weeks if bottling. Then, chill and enjoy your Peanut Butter and Raspberry English Ale!

To ensure successful delivery make sure there is some one Present at the Delivery Address during business hours.

Delivery times are normally 1-2 days to the North Island and 2-5 days to the South island once dispatched. Rural delivery can take an extra day longer.
