Packed with hopped ale malts and paired with American ale yeast, it delivers that classic clean mouthfeel and refreshing finish that makes modern IPAs so dangerously drinkable.
Whether you’re chasing a classic American West Coast IPA, a juicy Aussie hop bomb or a punchy NZIPA, this kit gives you the perfect foundation to build your brew your way.

Makes: 19L–23L (5–6 US Gal) depending on brew style
Style: Indian Pale Ale (IPA)
Malt: Pale Barley Malt
Yeast: American Ale Yeast
Bitterness: Medium, 27 IBU
Colour: 13 EBC / Gold
Approx. ABV: 4.0%–7.5% (depending on brew volume and style)
Ingredients: Barley malt extract, hop extracts, dried yeast
Note: Additional fermentables & hops required, see Brew Tip below.
Brew Tip:
Fermentables: For a classic West Coast IPA, add 1.5kg Brick Road Light Malt Extract plus 1kg Brick Road Extra Light Dry Malt Extract (or add 1kg Dextrose Brewing Sugar). For a lower-strength IPA, add 1.5kg Brick Road Extra Light Malt Extract. For a Session IPA, add 1kg Brick Road Extra Light Dry Malt Extract (or 1kg Dextrose Brewing Sugar).
Dry Hops: For citrus and fruity American IPA character, add 30g–200g of hops like Centennial, Cascade, Citra or Amarillo. For extra piney notes, go with Columbus or Tomahawk. Chasing an Aussie IPA? Try Galaxy or Vic Secret. For a proper NZIPA twist, load it up with Riwaka, Nelson Sauvin or Motueka.
Alternate Yeasts: US-05, BRY-97, WLP001 California Ale, 1056 American Ale or other clean, highly attenuating American ale yeasts.

In Stock Quantities Online may vary due to in store sales. Online quantities are pulled from all of our branches stock levels.

We will only deliver to a New Zealand address at this point in time. We don’t deliver to PO Boxes.
Pickup orders may show available in store on the product page but may not be available in the quantities in your cart. You may have to adjust the quantities in your cart at checkout to be able to pick up at a specific store.

Photo ID Of Person Who's Name is On The Order Must Be Presented to staff when picking up and must match name on order. We do not accept name changes of orders once placed so please make sure you are filling in the correct details.
If goods are Not Received within 7 days of purchase, contact us.
Any Damaged or Missing Items from your order must be brought to our attention within 7 days of receiving your order.
If your item is Oversized or More Than 25kg you may be contacted for an additional freight charge to be calculated upon picking of order.
We use Courier Post as our freight provider. Prices and providers are subject to change without prior notice.
To ensure successful delivery make sure there is some one Present at the Delivery Address during business hours.
Delivery times are normally 1-2 days to the North Island and 2-5 days to the South island once dispatched. Rural delivery can take an extra day longer.
