Distilling with the Pure Distilling Relux Condenser

Distilling with the Pure Distilling Relux Condenser

To use a Pure Distilling system, prepare and ferment a sugar wash, transfer the liquid into the boiler, run the heating and cooling water through the condenser, and collect and filter your final spirit.
Making and Transferring the Wash
Clean and sterilize your fermenter, tap, and paddle.
Mix ingredients by dissolving 9 kg of dextrose and spirit enhancer into warm water, then top up the fermenter to 25 liters.
Add yeast and let the wash ferment at 20°C to 27°C for 7 to 10 days until complete.
Transfer the cleared wash gently into the boiler by siphoning or pouring carefully to avoid splashing gas back into the liquid. Do not fill past the maximum line.
Setting Up and Running the Condenser
Attach the condenser unit securely onto the boiler and connect your cooling water hoses, aiming for a water flow rate of about 1.5 liters per minute.
Turn on the heat and monitor the thermometer. Turn on your cooling water before vapor starts rising and reaching high temperatures.
Collect the output carefully, discarding the initial small amount of foreshots, then gather your pure distillate product as it runs through the system.
Filtering and Flavoring
Water down your collected high-strength spirit safely before running it through your filtration setup.
Use the Smart Filter system with an activated carbon cartridge to clean and polish the spirit.
Flavor or age your clean neutral spirit using dedicated essences or oak barrel chunks in a glass jar.
